 “OASIS RECOLLECTIONS” ENTHRALLS AUDIENCE AT

 WRITERS INTERNATIONAL EDITION EVENT

 

We're thrilled to share the highlights from the highly acclaimed event where the award-winning Bilingual Poetry Anthology "Oasis Recollections" by the distinguished poet and visual artist, MARIA RETALI, was presented at the Event Hall of the Society of Greek Writers!

 

The Event Hall of the Society of Greek Writers – EEL was abuzz with excitement as Writers International Edition presented the highly acclaimed Bilingual Poetry Anthology titled “Oasis Recollections” by renowned poet and visual artist, Maria Retali. The event, held on Monday, April 3, 2023, witnessed a packed audience as the poet mesmerized them with her verses, much like she paints vivid colors, images, and scents on her canvas.

The coordination of this remarkable gathering was skillfully managed by Irene Doura-Kavadia, a Linguist, Author, and Secretary-General of Writers Capital Foundation, who also represents Writers International Edition.

Distinguished personalities from the realms of Literature and Arts graced the occasion as speakers. Mrs. Nina Diakovasili, President of the Club for UNESCO TLEE and visual artist, Costas Karousos, President of the Society of Greek Writers EEL and Author, and Dr. Steven Vogazianos-Roy, Ph.D., a permanent member of the General Council of the University of Glasgow, provided insightful perspectives on the book. Dr. Vogazianos-Roy, also the translator of the anthology into English, shed light on the intricate nuances of Maria Retali’s work. Mary France, Professor of Classics and Hellenistic Studies at the University of Colorado Springs, who contributed the foreword to the book, hailed its publication.

The recitations during the event were performed by Vasiliki Dragouni, an Author, Poet, and Editor of the Writers Edition Online Magazine, as well as Marilena Retali, a Chemistry Graduate from the Kapodistrian University of Athens. Additionally, selected poems were recited by Maria Retali herself in collaboration with Irene Doura-Kavadia.

Adding a harmonious touch to the ambiance, the soulful music accompanying Maria Retali’s poetry was composed and sung by Charitini Panopoulou, a mathematician and talented musician.

The event garnered significant attention and acclaim, receiving extensive coverage from the television show “Look it Up,” produced by INPOINT PRODUCTIONS and hosted by Journalist-Writer Dr. Anna Nikolaidis. Excerpts from the event were broadcasted on national television and radio stations, ensuring that this remarkable occasion reached a wider audience, allowing them to witness and appreciate the remarkable talents of Maria Retali.

The Bilingual Poetry Anthology “Oasis Recollections” stands as a testament to Maria Retali’s exceptional artistic abilities and her ability to touch the hearts and minds of readers with her evocative verses. As the event concluded, attendees left inspired and captivated, eagerly anticipating further literary contributions from this distinguished poet and visual artist.
