Writers Capital Foundation conducts
"With you, India", expressing solidarity with India
Global
organisation of writers and creators Writers Capital Foundation conducted a
virtual event "With you, India" to reassure solidarity with India
during the second outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. The programme attended by
eminent writers, artists and musicians from across the world, was conducted in
association with Indus Scrolls.
India
has been an inspiration for the global community in their efforts during the
challenging time. The present situation, though appears grim, will once again
prove the country’s determination, said noted poet and artist Joan Josep
Barcelo during his inaugural address. He said that the global community is with
India during difficult times.
Expressing
solidarity with India, Irene Doura-Kavadia, Secretary-General of the foundation
said that the visuals from India are disturbing. Though a few of the developing
country has witnessed a massive outbreak of the pandemic, the impact is more in
India due to the absence of basic infrastructure such as oxygen facility. The
Secretary-General expressed hope that the global community will continue
supporting India for availing proper medical components to effectively managing
the situation.
Poetess
Johanna Devadayavu expressed the vote of thanks during the programme.
Participants from across the world who expressed their solidarity with India
also presented their works dedicated to India. Panorama Arts Festival
Coordinators and participants also attended alongside the poets in a wish to
express their support.
The
foundation dedicated to social change is also actively taking part in reaching
food for the needy during the pandemic.
